Quick answer
HackHub is a hacking simulation game by HotBunny. Its desktop-style interface combines story missions, simulated networks, recognizable terminal tools, scripting, multiplayer, and community-made content.
Play the “Journalist’s Sister” story line or work through increasingly complex sandbox missions.
Use game versions of familiar names such as nmap, nslookup, hydra, and ssh.
Version 1.0 adds live servers, NPC companies, player-run infrastructure, staged attacks, heat, and tracing.
The Content SDK and Steam Workshop support custom quests, websites, apps, terminal commands, and other content.
Searching “HackHub” can also surface hackhub.com, an unrelated hackathon platform. This guide covers only the Steam game HackHub – Ultimate Hacker Simulator (App ID 2980270).
Spoiler-light orientation
This is a general problem-solving framework, not a claimed mission walkthrough. Exact interfaces and syntax can change between patches.
Read the objective first. Identify whether the game expects an address, service, file, credential, message, or completed interaction.
Use the in-game browser, mail, Handbook, and reconnaissance tools to connect names, domains, and simulated network targets.
Record the target, ports, services, filenames, and version clues shown on screen before choosing the next tool.
Use the in-game Handbook and command help. Our command page distinguishes official 1.0 confirmations from broader reference notes.
Retain useful in-game notes and files until the objective updates. For a patch-specific bug, search the exact objective text in Steam Discussions.
Primary reference
The 1.0 release added commands for both single-player and multiplayer. We label the evidence source and avoid guessing syntax that the official notes do not document.

The official 1.0 notes describe a shared world with procedurally generated companies, NPC targets, player-owned servers, domains, and proxy infrastructure.
Targets have increasing tiers. Higher tiers require more tools, while heat, reputation, surveillance, and exposed IP addresses make careless activity riskier.
The launch notes state that multiplayer does not modify the single-player save. Multiplayer remains in active development, so resets and balance changes can occur.

We did not independently play-test the current build. That limitation is explicit so research notes are not mistaken for first-hand walkthroughs.
Release state, 1.0 features, supported modes, and newly announced commands come from official Steam pages and announcements.
General command purposes can also be informed by community references. We do not present unverified syntax as official.
Pages requiring original gameplay proof remain unpublished until that evidence exists.
